BIOGRAPHY

I grew up with art as my outlet, and throughout my high school years, I've continued to create more pieces. My inspiration comes from my life experiences that I've seen from my perspective. The art I made my senior year has become my favorite piece I've ever created. Through the years, I've grown with my art and have changed what I like to paint. My favorite recent pieces are Sunset Surfer and Thin Enough? These both mean much to me because of the meanings behind them. Growing up in the generation of social media means that I consume so much daily; art has been my break and way to express what I see and feel. This term I've worked a lot on the human form, and as I go into the next term I will continue working on portraits and abstracts.
Winter 25'
This was my second term as an art major in my senior year. This term, I learned much about my style and what I like to paint, mainly portraits and abstracts. My favorite piece this term was my “Orcid” painting. I enjoyed the free-flowing feel of the piece and the bright pops of color. The painting I think I learned the most from was the portrait “Lady in Red” It took a long time to make, but it taught me when to stop messing with a piece and to just leave it alone so i dont mess it up, i also feel like it allowed me to work on a bigger scale and making sure that my facial measurements were accurate. I spent a lot of time this term in the studio at night, I liked this because it gave me a place to decompress and get my painting done as well as start new paintings. I loved being an art major, and I wish I could do it longer, but I'm excited to take what I learned with me to go paint on my senior project this spring as I go off to plein air painting near my home.
